Swimming Pool Covers

A swimming pool is a water container used for a variety of sports. These include canoe polo, diving, synchronized swimming, and water polo.

Swimming pools are available in a wide range of sizes and styles. They can be either freestanding or inground. Inground pools are typically constructed from concrete or plastic.

Some pools are heated. Heated pools can comply with regulations and meet safety standards. However, heat loss can be a problem.

One way to minimize this is to cover the swimming pool. Covers can be manually operated or auto-operated. The most convenient and easiest option is automatic covers.

Safety covers are often made of coated vinyl. Typically, they are attached with hooked springs or bungee cords.

Bubble covers are also used. Bubble covers are usually fitted to one side of the pool. Over time, they can become weaker and will fall apart.

Safety covers are also designed to prevent leaf debris from entering the pool. Typically, these are attached all winter.

Other options include liquid covers. These use a thin layer of liquid to reduce evaporation. These covers must be replenished regularly. If the weather is windy, they may not be effective.

Vinyl pools are cheaper and have a longer life span than bubble or bubble-style covers. Unlike fiberglass, these pools can be custom-shaped.

For example, you can install a deck or walkway around the perimeter of the pool. This can be a great landscape feature. You can also have a plunge pool added to your traditional swimming pool.
